The Alpine High School Golf teams completed round one of the District Tournament at home on Monday, with the second round scheduled today at the Winkler County Golf Course in Kermit at 9:30 a.m. The Alpine girls are leading the tournament with a total team score of 407, followed by Kermit with a team score of 480.

The Alpine High School Runnin’ Buck JV and varsity track teams competed in the Crane Relays this past Saturday, with some top finishes for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. The varsity boys’ team was led by Kelton Tarrant with his second-place triple jump of 39’ 9.5”.

The Alpine Lady Bucks didn’t just pick up two district wins this week; they took control of their realm. Behind explosive innings, aggressive base running, and steady work in the circle, Alpine rolled past Tornillo and Kermit to remain undefeated in district play at 4-0, improving to 11-12 overall.

The AMS track teams competed at home on March 26 at their District meet, with both seventh and eighth-grade boys and girls teams earning a first-place finish. The Division I 7th grade boys team earned a total of 236 points for their win, along with several individual firstplace finishes in individual events.
