The Alpine Lady Bucks softball team put together a dominant stretch of softball last week, overpowering Presidio before sweeping a Saturday doubleheader against Westbrook with an explosive display at the plate.

The Alpine High School Fightin’ Bucks packed plenty of action into a short week, returning to the diamond after seven days off for a district showdown against Anthony High School on Friday, March 20. Despite outhitting the Wildcats by a wide margin, Alpine ultimately fell 9-6 at Kokernot Field in a game that swung on a handful of tough innings and untimely breaks.

The AHS tennis team traveled to Odessa to compete in the Permian Invitational that was held at three different sites, including Permian High School, Odessa High School, and the Ratliff Tennis Courts. “This was another great opportunity for our players to compete and continue building momentum for the season,” said Coach Lauren Martinez.

The Alpine High School Varsity Fightin’ Lady Bucks battled through wild West Texas winds and a packed three-game stretch last week, opening district play with an emphatic win after facing a pair of tough opponents.
