Big Bend Youth Soccer Association is registering players for the fall 2026 season now until July 15. $95 fee for one or $75 each for two or more family members. We have teams for kids 4-17 years old, and all teams are coed. First practices during the week of August 24 and first games on 9/12/26. We have teams from Alpine, Presidio, Fort Davis, and Marfa. If enough kids sign up from your community, then we can support practices in Presidio, Marfa, and Fort Davis. as well as Alpine. All skill levels are encouraged to sign up! The 2026 Legends Golf Tournament weekend begins tomorrow at the Alpine Country Club. This year’s honoree is Bryan LaBeff, a longtime Alpine resident, country club member, and golfer. Tomorrow’s activities begin with an 8 a.m. practice round, followed by the SHOOTOUT at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m., with team discussion to follow.

Dear Neil, our huge cedar tree showed dead branches at its top 18 months ago. The lower branches have remained green. I do not see any insects, nor can I detect any disease. I have not used any weedkillers near it. Two cedar trees died quickly. I’d like to save this tree. Can you tell me what might be happening?

INGREDIENTS 2 (8-ounce) packages of softened cream cheese 1 cup of caramel sauce, plus more for garnish 1 cup of powdered sugar 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 cups of heavy cream 5-8 Honeycrisp apples, cored and chopped into ¼ inch pieces (number of apples depends upon the size of the apples) 1 9-inch graham cracker pie crust, broken into pieces DIRECTIONS Beat together the cream cheese, caramel sauce, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a large bowl using an electric mixer until creamy. Add in heavy cream and continue to beat on mediumhigh for about two minutes or until thickened and fluffy.
