TaMaiya Mims scored 19 points to lead the Lobo women’s basketball team in an exhibition match against the Texas State Bobcats on Monday night at Strahan Arena. Cheyanne Bonilla tied up the game with a layup before Texas State went on a 9-0 run to lead 11-2 in the first quarter.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks ended their season Friday night with a hard-fought 49-28 loss to the Stanton Buffaloes in the Bi-District Championship, hosted in Fort Stockton. Despite the loss, the Bucks’ season was marked by notable achievements, including a share of the district championship for the first time since 2019.
