The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks varsity basketball team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion last week, rolling to backto- back wins over Anthony and Kermit to lock in second place in district and punch their ticket to the postseason Bi-District Championship game.

The Alpine High School Lady Bucks varsity basketball team closed out the final stretch of district play this week with determination, confidence, and a little bit of payback, knocking off a top district opponent at home before finishing the regular season on the road.

The Alpine Lady Bucks softball team enters the new season returning seven starters and a deep, versatile roster built for a strong postseason push. With last year’s first-round playoff exit still fresh in their minds, the Lady Bucks are focused, motivated, and determined to make a deeper run this spring.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks are back on the diamond, and while last season’s final out still stings, the foundation laid during a hard-fought 2024-25 campaign has this year’s club poised to compete from day one.

Sul Ross State University Women’s Basketball (3–15, LSC 2–10) earned a hard-fought Lone Star Conference victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Texas A&M University–Kingsville (4–14, LSC 4–8) 62–58 at the Pete P. Gallego Center.
