Lobo men off to a good start

The Sul Ross Lobo men’s basketball team is off to a great start on the season, with two exhibition games completed and four wins in their pocket. After an exhibition game against New Mexico State University in Las Cruces to begin the season, the Lobos hit the road to Hobbs to take on the Mustangs of the University of the Southwest where they eeked out a win with a score of 70-67.

Lady Lobos score back-to-back wins in Houston

The Sul Ross Lady Lobos basketball team hit the road on Saturday with back-to-back games scheduled in Houston against Schreiner University at noon on Saturday and an afternoon game on Sunday against the University of St. Thomas. Both games were played at the Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center.

Lady Bucks swing into the basketball season

The Alpine Lady Bucks have started their season, facing the Midland Christian Mustangs for a non-district away game on Friday, November 17. The Alpine team lost 30-56 but made some impressive plays in their beginning foray.

Fightin’ Bucks stopped before regionals

Body
The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks played the Idalou Wildcats in Andrews on Friday, falling 18-64. The Bucks had progressed to the Area competition after having won their bi-district match-up against Brady with a final score of 29-23.

Lady Lobos battle to the end, fall short

The Sul Ross Lady Lobo basketball team took to the court at the Gallego Center last Wednesday afternoon, taking on future Lone Star Conference competitor the Mustangs of Western New Mexico University. Sul Ross would fall just short of the W in the last minutes of the game, falling to the Mustangs 65-69.

New season for Lady Bucks

Body
The Alpine Lady Bucks have already hit the court for practice and play for this fall season. As of October 18, head coach Christopher Virdell has a strong sense of faith in the abilities of the roster.

Terlingua student in top 50 at state 1A cross country meet

Body
A Terlingua CSD student recently made school history when she qualified for the State UIL Cross Country meet held in Round Rock on November 3. Brooke Jenks, a junior at Terlingua High School finished in 33rd place with an overall time of 13:16 in the 1A division. Jenks is the first athlete ever to qualify for state cross-country from Terlingua and she also plays basketball and runs track.
