Bucks take on Golden Cranes, Buffaloes

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks took down their opponents last week, both at home and away. Last Tuesday, January 23, Alpine High School hosted the Crane Golden Cranes for a district game which resulted in a 72-43 win for the Bucks. On that Friday, they made the journey to Stanton where they defeated the Buffaloes 57-44.

Lady Bucks win last home game

After a five-win streak spanning this January, the Lady Bucks were reminded that you can’t win them all. Last Tuesday the Lady Bucks played the visiting team, the Crane Golden Cranes, in a district home game which resulted in a tough 53-81 loss for the Alpine team.
The Lady Bucks battled it out in Stanton last Friday.

Fightin’ Buck golf hits the links

The Alpine Fightin’ Buck boys golf team will hit the road today for their first tournament of the season in Monahans. While the girls’ team has five players this season, four of them are still on the basketball court, and Coach Marco Gomez hopes to have a full girls’ team this year.

Lady Bucks ramp up for softball season

Softball season for the Lady Bucks is swiftly approaching with their first scrimmage already under their belt and their first neutral tournament game scheduled for February 15. On Saturday the Lady Bucks traveled to Midland for the first scrimmage against Midland and Fort Stockton teams.

Bucks get new tennis coach

The Alpine High School tennis program has gained a new coach for the upcoming season, and Lauren Martinez is looking forward to this Spring. Practice has been in full swing already and the Bucks’ first scrimmage is tomorrow against the Crane Golden Cranes.

Girl’s powerlifting takes third in Fort Stockton

Body
The Alpine High School girl’s powerlifting team competed this past Saturday at a tournament in Fort Stockton. Out of more than 20 teams, including Midland schools and San Angelo Central, Alpine placed third overall in the competition.

Lady Bucks advance in district

Body
The Alpine Lady Bucks battled it out for the win in a district home game last week with the Presidio Blue Devils. After the Blue Devils led on the scoreboard for the entire first half, the Lady Bucks impressively rebounded in the second, toppling the guest team 40-38.
