The Alpine High School girls’ track team descended upon El Paso this past Friday to compete at their first meet of the season. These girls performed well overall and will be a force in district and area competitions this season.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Bucks won their last district home game of the season against the Tornillo Coyotes. For this Senior Night, Alpine celebrated their graduating athletes, including Novah Carasco for her 1000-point record.
As Alpine gears up for another season of softball, the Avalanche had a chance to visit with head coach Christopher Virdell about the upcoming year. Last year the Lady Bucks made it to bidistrict at the end of the season and had an overall 18-10 record, with a 9-2 record in the district.
