AHS girls run well in first meet of the season

The Alpine High School girls’ track team descended upon El Paso this past Friday to compete at their first meet of the season. These girls performed well overall and will be a force in district and area competitions this season.
The Alpine High School girl’s track team did well at the El Paso Parkland Invitational this past weekend. These runners all placed in the top 10 in all but one race. Pictured are Kylie Maroney, Sophie Janis, Molly Garrett, Abby Bruttomesso, Danica Mulholland, and Valeria Crespo.

Bucks continue district success

Lady Bucks conquer Senior Night

Last Tuesday, the Lady Bucks won their last district home game of the season against the Tornillo Coyotes. For this Senior Night, Alpine celebrated their graduating athletes, including Novah Carasco for her 1000-point record.
Novah Carrasco hit a milestone, her senior year at Alpine High School, when she hit a career high 1,000 points mark in basketball. Carrasco celebrated this honor with her family on Senior Night last Tuesday when the Lady Bucks defeated the Tornillo Coyotes. Courtesy photo

Softball in full scrimmage swing

As Alpine gears up for another season of softball, the Avalanche had a chance to visit with head coach Christopher Virdell about the upcoming year. Last year the Lady Bucks made it to bidistrict at the end of the season and had an overall 18-10 record, with a 9-2 record in the district.
