Lady Bucks softball swings into tournaments

The Lady Bucks traveled to College Station this past weekend to participate in the Texas Lead Off Classic Tournament. In this first tournament of the season, the Lady Bucks defeated the 6A team from Round Rock Westwood and the 4A from Devine, losing in very competitive games to 6A Waller, 4A Robinson, 5A Canutillo, and 5A Clearlake.

Tennis warms up

The Alpine Bucks tennis team now has three scrimmages under their belt this season and has progressed into tournaments. On February 2, they traveled to Crane followed by Monahans on Friday for constructive practice and experience.

Bucks baseball falls to Pecos

After two scrimmages earlier in the season against Fort Stockton and Monahans, the Alpine Bucks took on the Pecos Eagles at Kokernot field on Monday evening in a nondistrict matchup for their first game of the season. The Alpine Buck varsity took to the field at 7 p.m. in what would be a runaway game for the Pecos Eagles.

The Alpine High School golf team traveled to Fort Stockton this past weekend for tournament play. Although the boys’ team had two tournaments under their belt, having played in Pecos and Monahans, this was the first tournament of the season for the girls.

Sul Ross baseball 0-7 for the season

The Sul Ross Lobos have begun their season in a slump. So far, they’ve faced three teams besides their first exhibition game, with two of those against the University of Dallas having been canceled, but they’ve lost each game in their respective series.
