The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks baseball team, under the seasoned guidance of Head Coach Adam Llanez, is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season, having finished as bi-district finalists last season. Entering his tenth year at the helm, Coach Llanez brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game, which has been instrumental in shaping the team’s competitive edge over the years.

The Alpine Bucks varsity boys basketball team is wrapping up the regular season with a pivotal matchup tomorrow night against Kermit. Riding the momentum of two decisive wins last week and looking to rebound from a tough loss against district leaders Presidio, the Bucks are focused on securing a playoff spot in the highly competitive district.

The Sul Ross State University baseball team (0-1 Lone Star Conference, 0-1) put up a strong fight in a 3-1 loss to St. Mary’s (Texas) (1-0 LSC, 1-0), Friday evening at Dickson Stadium.

Before 2014, cheerleading was not considered a UIL-sanctioned sport. This meant no district, regional, area, or state titles to earn.

The Alpine Lady Bucks came out swinging in their first softball scrimmage of the season, traveling to El Paso to take on the Riverside Rangers on Saturday, January 25. It was a powerful start for the Lady Bucks, who delivered a statement win with a 15-4 rout of the 5A varsity squad.
