Cross Country Coach, Alpine High School The Alpine cross country season started off this year at the Derek Hernandez Memorial Relay in Andrews on Aug. 20.

The Lady Buck Volleyball team set out on Aug. 18 on a whirlwind tour of the Concho Valley that included competition at the annual Nita Vannoy tournament in San Angelo.

Recently the Avalanche sat down with the new Lady Buck’s volleyball coach Autumn Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick is a graduate of Sterling City High School and Sul Ross State University. Kilpatrick received both her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree at Sul Ross, where she served as a graduate assistant under former head volleyball coach Troy Canaba.

Publisher The Alpine Lady Bucks hit the ground running on Aug. 9 against the 2-A Fort Hancock Lady Mustangs held at the Gallego Center at Sul Ross State University.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks took on the Mc-Camey Badgers for their first scrimmage of the season on Aug. 12 at Buck stadium.
