Hitting a grand slam for a good cause

Body
It was a good day for slow pitch softball as Twisted Team, a co-ed adult softball team from Midland-Odessa and Ojinaga, Mexico, pause for a photo at the Valentin Lujan Memorial Baseball Field in Alpine on June 25. The tournament had plenty of teams vying for bragging rights and fun times with friends, with proceeds directly benefiting Shelly Pearce for medical expenses. The tournament raised around $2,000 in concessions and team fees, and donations were appreciated. Alpine’s Disco Ninja won the two-day tournament. Avalanche photo by Roxanne Hill
