First-time players become surprise tournament champs
Ten sixth graders who had little to no experience in the game of volleyball came together this year and completely swept away expectations.
Bucks to meet Odessa Compass again for homecoming game
On October 20, the Alpine Fightin’ Bucks will face the Compass Academy team from Odessa again for Alpine’s Homecoming district game. The last time that Alpine played the Odessa team was for their first district game of the season on September 22.

Runnin’ Bucks compete in Odessa
The Alpine Runnin’ Bucks competed in both the boys and girls cross country races in Odessa on October 5, with the varsity girls bringing home a second-place overall finish and the varsity boys bringing in a fifth-place overall finish. The girls’ biggest hurdle in the district is Odessa Compass.
20 years of M2M: a Boston Marathon qualifying race
The Marathon to Marathon (M2M) celebrates its 20th race this Saturday. This annual event began in 2003 and has been going strong ever since.
Lady Bucks face Tornillo and Wink, remain first in district
The Alpine Lady Bucks, now with a sevenwin streak and remaining first in the district, faced the Tornillo Coyotes last Tuesday and the Wink Wildcats on Saturday. In the first set of the district home game against Tornillo the Lady Bucks won 25-12, 25-11 in the second set, and 25-5 in the third.
