Bucks begin preseason with strong outing against McCamey

The Alpine High School Fightin’ Bucks started the preseason Friday, August 16, against the McCamey Badgers with great performances by both the junior varsity and varsity squads. While there were no winners or losers in the scrimmages, the Bucks’s defense swarmed and their offense hustled, making McCamey look more like prairie dogs than badgers.

COWBOYS WIN PECOS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP

In a season filled with unforgettable moments, the Alpine Cowboys capped off their recordbreaking year by winning the Pecos League Championship, their first since 2019. The Cowboys defeated the Garden City Wind to claim the Mountain Division Championship and then took down the reigning champions, the San Rafael Pacifics, in a thrilling two-game series at historic Kokernot Field. This championship win marks 13 total for the Cowboys Franchise.

Midnight Madness brings out football fans

The late hour didn’t faze the 250 fans in the stands at Buck Stadium who were there for the Alpine High School football Midnight Madness practice under the stars on Saturday, August 10. Bucks’ fans began arriving as early as 11:20 p.m.
