Wesley Roach of Alpine passed away on June 19, 2026, after a lengthy illness. He was 73 years old.

Marin Reyes, 85, of Midland, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. He was born on September 7, 1940, in Marathon to Jose and Leonor Reyes.

Julie Mae Martin Stumberg, 84, of Alpine died at Big Bend Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family, on June 10, 2026. Graceful, petite, demure, reserved…these words have never been used to describe her.

Michael“Mike”Murphy Mike and his wife Debbie arrived in the Davis Mountains in 1997, rolled up their sleeves, and helped craft one of the largest, most important conservation projects in Texas. They were inseparable, and they loved the land and each other.

Hector Ismael Balderrama, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 02, in Fort Stockton. He was born in Terlingua on February 24, 1946. Hector loved participating in Special Olympics not only in Alpine, where he was raised, but also in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and in Fort Stockton. Hector did not need to practice for Special Olympics because he naturally loved walking. He would walk all over Alpine making new friends and catching up with old friends. Later in life, Hector formed a strong bond with birds, especially his beloved cockatiel Paco. His bond was so strong that even when he was in the nursing home, he would ask for Paco to pray for him.

Yolanda Parras Marquez, 74, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Alpine. Yolanda was born on July 8, 1951, in Alpine, to Francisco Parras and Ramona Ramos Parras.

David Eric Molinar, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and cherished member of his Alpine community, passed away on May 11, 2026, just weeks before what would have been his 54th birthday. Born on June 3, 1972, in Alpine, David’s life was a testament to warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith.

Leroy Granado Baeza, 87, of Fort Davis and more recently of Dallas, passed away on May 16, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on April 10 in Alpine, he was the beloved son of Dolores (“Lolo”) and Faye Baeza.

February 20, 1937, to May 4, 2026 Gary “Silver” Schmidt passed away on May 4, 2026, at Bronte Health & Rehab Center, Bronte, Texas, with family and Mario, his beloved Corgi, at his side. He was 89 years old.

The heart and soul of the Blocker family has passed away, peacefully and surrounded by children and grandchildren. Dolphia Lee Parker was born to Verner and Gladys Parker in Shattuck, Oklahoma, just over the Texas line.
