Buck tennis looking for an exciting season

The 2021 tennis program has kicked off this spring, and Coach Rick Garcia spoke with the Avalanche to answer some questions about the upcoming season. With 12 returners and 12 newcomers to the tennis program, Garcia is optimistic about the season, especially after not finishing out the 2020 season due to COVID.

Laxton named to Hall of Honor

Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Billy Ray Laxton will be inducted into the Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Honor this June. The Hall of Honor was created to own, operate, and maintain an association exclusive to the promotion, enhancement, and advancement of the athletic training profession and of the association’s members.
Vaccines, elections, and Sul Ross

The COVID-19 vaccination arrived in the Tri-County a month ago, and many of our residents have taken advantage of the vaccination. Many of our residents have received the second series with some discomfort that goes away after a few days, and others like me have had little or no side effects. I urge everyone to get the vaccine as soon as it’s available to you. It’s not mandatory, but hopefully the vaccine will slow this disease.
The need for rural broadband is real

Of all the issues advocated by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the need for high-speed, broadband internet is a relative newcomer, at least compared to topics like cattle theft and water rights.
