Timothy James Brown passed away on July 5, 2022, of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

At the age of 82, Lucia Valenzuela passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Dec. 2, 2021, two days before her 83rd birthday.

Dennis Earl Bryant left his earthly home on July 10, 2022, to be reunited in heaven with his beloved daughter April.

On July 12 Brewster County deputies, along with K9 Latek and U.S. Border Patrol agents, responded to a call from a concerned citizen south of Marathon reporting a group of suspicious persons who approached his residence.

On July 15 Brewster County deputies received a call of four individuals walking along Highway 118 north of Study Butte. Upon conducting a welfare check on the individuals, it was determined they entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico. They were referred to U.S. Border Patrol agents for processing.

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents were involved in multiple rescues throughout the months of April, May, and June. Agents throughout Big Bend Sector rescued 150 individuals in distress this past quarter, raising the total number of rescues to more than 380 for the fiscal year.
