Four-peat champs: Lady Bucks close district play with domination, keep district crown in Alpine

The Alpine Lady Bucks varsity volleyball (21-14, 8-0) team added another convincing victory to their season Saturday, October 25, defeating Anthony in straight sets 25-5, 25-10, 25-16. The sweep marks their ninth consecutive win and pushes their overall record to 21 wins as they complete their sweep in district play and secured the district championship for the fourth season in a row.

Bucks beat Anthony for second win, pull down seven interceptions

The Alpine High School Fightin’ Bucks varsity football team (26, 2-2) gave their homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Friday night, October 24, as they shut out the Anthony Wildcats 35-0 at Buck Stadium. The win marked Alpine’s second victory of the season—and their second over Anthony this year— showcasing a revitalized defense that forced seven interceptions and turned opportunities into points on both sides of the ball.

Alpine XC leaves it all in Lubbock

The Alpine Runnin’ Bucks Cross-Country team traveled to Lubbock on Monday to compete in the 4-3A Cross Country Regional Championship at Mae Simmons Park. These runners ran their hearts out all season, all while fighting injuries and competing in other activities. The girls’ team came up just short, with no runners advancing to state. Wall and Holliday took the top two team spots for the ladies, followed by Jim Ned and Dalhart, securing the other top spots, for the top four finishers to head to Round Rock.

Lady Bucks extend 25-game winning streak, downing Tornillo and Presidio

The Alpine High School varsity volleyball team (20-14, 7-0) continued its district dominance this past week with a pair of convincing victories over Tornillo and Presidio, extending its district winning streak to 25 games. The Lady Bucks haven’t dropped a district contest since October 21, 2022, exactly three years to the day of their latest triumph over Presidio.

Varsity XC advances to Regionals

The Alpine High School varsity crosscountry team traveled to Tornillo last Thursday to compete in the District 4-3A championship. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams were successful, compiling enough points to advance to the Regional competition in Lubbock on Monday, October 20.
These varsity cross-country runners earned individual medals at last Thursday’s District 4-3A meet in Tornillo. Everett Edwards earned a 9th-place finish, Molly Garrett earned 4th-place, Emy Hernandez earned 6th-place, Hallie Wood earned 2nd-place, Iliana Dominguez earned 5th-place, and Alice Saunders earned 10th.
