Alpine beats Sonora to advance to winner bracket

Body
Saturday clicked for the Alpine Lady Bucks. In a season that has been a learning experience for the young volleyball team, determination paid off Saturday in San Angelo. The team traveled to Wall Thursday to take on the Wall Hawks. In a fierce battle in cotton country, the Lady Bucks were defeated but not deflated against the always competitive 3A powerhouse.

Growing as a team while fully challenged

Body
The Alpine Lady Bucks knew going into last weekend’s volleyball tournament that they would be out gunned to say the least. Alpine and 25 other schools from all around West Texas competed in the 47th Annual Monahans tournament. The Lady Bucks are a young team this year after losing six starters from last year, but the fight that is in this younger sophomore class and some experience with the older girls helped push the team all weekend.
