Bucks bullish on basketball season

Body
Coach Hugh Morrissey is pumped up and pleased. Pumped up for the upcoming rendition of Bucks basketball this season, and pleased with Alpine’s 3-0 start so far. The reigning district champs are coming off a superb 19-5 season with returning both the District MVP in Aiden Morrissey and District Defensive Player of the Year in Jayden Canaba, both seniors. Junior Tray Ervin was Second Team All-District for what should have been the District Sixth Man of the Year.

Big things expected from Cason

Body
Hatfield Cason is just a freshman, but his performance in cross country has been more like an upperclassman in high school thus far. He has had six top five finishes to close out a stellar freshman campaign. He finished third in District this year for his highest race of the cross-country season. He also finished third in the Bo Coffman Invitational down in Presidio.

Last Friday night in Kermit the Alpine Bucks faced a football rushing machine and the number seven team in the state in the 11-0 Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles. These Eagles, along with the El Paso Riverside Rangers, were the top two teams on the Bucks schedule this season.

Bucks win in Bi-District

Body
As the seconds ticked off the clock at James H. Bird Memorial Stadium in Big Lake, Tray Ervin and Jordan Rodriguez were amidst a water bottle shower celebrating a tad early as Alpine defeated the San Angelo Grape Creek Eagles, 27-14. The referees let the Bucks jump around with bursts of water cascading 15-20 feet high as the players celebrated another first round playoff win and were crowned Bi-District champions once again.

Foster always on the attack

Body
Shaun Foster is like one of those Wild West characters out of a book, 6’3” inches tall, and practically skinny. He’s got a million-dollar smile and a giant head of hair. And he’s got those cowboy good looks, a tall, lanky laidback cowboy, but his play on the grid-iron is altogether different. He is constantly proving a menace to opposing teams’ quarterbacks and other clubs’ offenses in general.
