On Nov. 14, 2022, Aurie Mitchell West was called home to her Lord and Savior at the age of 84. Aurie was born on November 15, 1937, to William Hayes Mitchell Sr. and Adele Crain Mitchell of Marfa. Marfa was where she made her lifetime home with the love of her life, Guy Gene West. Aurie met Gene at Bloys Campmeeting and they were married on Sept. 8, 1954. Together they continued Aurie’s family’s heritage, and she became a fifth-generation cattle rancher in the state of Texas, and fourth generation in Presidio County while raising their five children.

Katharine Ann Crockett Davis was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a gifted concert pianist whose rich alto voice was often lifted to praise Jesus Christ. Katharine took her final bow at home in Alpine, Texas on October 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her family who will especially miss her wisdom, her smile, her turkey and gravy, and her infectious laugh.

Jean Espy Everett (Nene) wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend, and mentor to many, passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Jean was born on March 9th, 1939, in Fort Davis, Texas to Pansy and (Big) Jim Espy. She is survived by her husband Tommy Everett of Fort Davis, TX, sister Pat Smith of Hobbs, New Mexico, sister Ann and Jim Duncan of Lake Whitney, TX, and Brother Jim and Sally Espy of Fort Davis, TX. Jean is survived by her three children Debby McIvor of Fort Davis, TX, Rick McIvor of Fort Davis, TX, and Scott McIvor and wife Julie of Fort Davis, TX and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

LaDonna Marie Schneider died due to an accidental fall in Morrison, Okla., on Sept. 30, 2022. Her mother and step-father, Elaine and Billy T. Davenport, are long-time residents of Alpine, Texas. She was born on April 19, 1964, in Odessa, Texas. She graduated from high school in Oklahoma, and attended college in both Oklahoma and California.
