Gilbert Donathan Mesa, 46, of Fort Stockton and Alpine, passed away on March 10, in Fort Stockton. Visitation was held March 16, from 12 p.m.

Gerald W. Johnson, Jr., 75, of Alpine, passed away on March 20. Jerry was born on January 14, 1948, to Col. and Mrs. Gerald W. Johnson. He attended various primary schools and graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia,

Albert Hartnett Rojo, Jr, “Conky”, entered eternal rest on Feb. 8, at the age of 71, at home in San Jose, CA. Albert was born on April 26, 1951, in Ysleta, TX, and raised in Alpine. He graduated Alpine High School in the class of 1970. Albert was a Buck athlete, played multiple sports, and was quarterback for the Buck football team.

Elena Peña Gallego, 94, a long-time resident of Alpine, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 8, 2023. Born in Fort Stockton, Texas, on August 18, 1928, to Martín Peña and Cecilia Paredes Peña, she was the third of four surviving children - and the last of her generation.

Dr. Paul Arthur Will, 77, of Alpine, made his entrance into heaven Feb. 26, in Waco. Paul recently celebrated his birthday on Feb. 9. He was born to Arthur Walter and Mary Belle Denman Will in Weslaco. He met the love of his life Mazie Elizabeth McLellan, and they were married 52 years.

Dan Murrah passed away at the age of 97 Sunday, Feb. 26, at Good Life Senior Living Center, in Snyder.

Estefana Urquidez 91, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on Feb. 28, in Laveen, Arizona.

On Feb. 21, James Stancel De Voll, passed from this life into eternal rest. This was his greatest desire and he spent 60 years teaching others the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they, too, might share in that same faith and hope.

Leslie Cletus Brown III passed away on Feb. 19, in Houston. Cletus III was born in Houston on August 4, 1952, to Leslie Cletus Brown Jr. and Betty Showers Brown. He attended Katy High School and Schreiner Institute Military Academy Preparatory School, graduating in 1970. He went on to study business and graduated from the University of HoustonDowntown.

Marlow, at the age of 42, received his promotion to heaven on Feb. 15. He was born and raised in Midland. He graduated from Midland Christian School in 1999. He received a BA in Marketing from University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
