Earl Richard “Dick” Wallis passed away on Sept. 27, 2022, in El Paso, Texas. Graveside services were held on Oct. 1, 2022, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine, Texas. Dick was born on Sept. 25, 1931, near Bosler, Wyo. He is the son of Lew Elmer Wallis and Esther Anna Drube Wallis. He graduated from Longmont High School in Longmont, Colo., and attended Colorado State University for a semester before joining the Navy in 1951. He served during the Korean War. He rode in the belly of the aircraft, and spotted submarine trails on the Atlantic Ocean. In 1954 he returned to Wyoming, and attended the University of Wyoming and was on the rodeo team. He was a National Intercollegiate Reserve Champion Bull Rider in 1957.

Robert Dean Fields of Alpine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 24, 2022, at the age of 51.

Alpine, Texas, resident and beloved owner of Harry’s Tinaja, Harald “Harry” Mois, died at his home on Sept. 2.

Orlando Espinosa, 67, of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 5, 2022, in his hometown of Alpine, Texas, at Big Bend Regional Hospital. As many of you know, Orlando was a devout Catholic, and prayed his rosary daily. Please pray for the repose of his soul.

Richard Glenn Allen, born Aug. 19, 1949, died Sept. 6, 2022, in his home in Marathon, Texas. Richard was an artist and an engineer, an inventor, and a dreamer - a true renaissance man. He spent his last years in quiet contemplation, and passed content

Shelly Dawn Pearce of Alpine, Texas, went to be with the Lord Aug. 29, 2022, at the age of 59.

Gloria “Grandma” Gallego, peacefully passed away on Aug. 26, 2022, in Odessa, Texas. She was a long-time resident of Alpine, Texas. Gloria was the oldest daughter born on Dec. 18, 1930, to Jesus Portillo and Teresa Cobos. She married Joe Gallego, and they made a home in California, and eventually returned to Alpine.

Gloria A. Myers, 88, of Presidio, Texas, passed away on Aug.

Margaret R. Martinez, 99, of Marfa, Texas, passed away on Aug.

Our loving husband “Jampa” and friend Robert “Bobby” Martinez of McAllen, Texas, and Alpine, Texas, closed his eyes to his earthly home on July 15, 2022, with his loving wife and family. Bobby was born on July 20, 1946, in Marfa, Texas, to Consuelo Rivera and Eliseo Martinez.
