Olive Evelyn Hill Snow passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on March 7. Born in Alpine on December 6, 1921, to Eva May Hinson and Jesse James Harding Hill, she survived the Great Depression and spent her incredibly interesting childhood in Texas and Arkansas. Olive graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy

A memorial service for Patricia (Pat) Anne Renfroe Miller will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Davis High School auditorium (instead of the First Presbyterian Church). It will be followed by a graveside committal service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fort Davis. All are welcome to celebrate Mom’s life with us. Michele, Keesey, and Drew.

Celestina Acosta Gomez, peacefully passed away at the remarkable age of almost 110, on February 22 at 7:30 a.m. in her hometown Alpine.

Pilar H. Llanez passed away at the age of 90 and was a resident of Alpine.

On February 10, David M. De La O was welcomed into his heavenly home.

Homer Ferguson Mills, a native of Alpine passed away on Monday, February 5, in Houston, after many months battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was a rancher, conservationist, wildlife enthusiast, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Kathleen Holland Olsen passed away on February 3 at the age of 89 in Hurst. Born on July 24, 1934, in San Antonio, Kathleen lived a remarkable life filled with elegance, charm, and no-nonsense practicality. She was a devoted rancher who cherished her beautiful ranch in West Texas and deeply valued her friends and family. Kathleen’s wisdom was admired by many, and she was always willing to share her insights with others. Though soft-spoken, her views were definite and were often delivered with wry humor.

Marilyn Grant (nee Maxwell), 78, passed away on December 27 in Tyler. While we are deeply saddened at her passing, she faced terminal bladder cancer with remarkable grace and power, embodying strength throughout her journey and we take comfort that she is now at peace.

In loving memory, we are saddened to announce the passing of Homer Mills of Alpine on February 5 in Houston. Please join us to honor and celebrate the life of Homer Mills at First Christian Church in Alpine in the afternoon of Saturday, February 10 with burial to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. An obituary will be published in next week’s paper.
