Fridays during the season of Lent mean those who participate in this Christian tradition do not eat red or fleshy meat on that day for the entire 40 days of fasting and prayer. Instead, the protein of choice is typically fish.
During Lent, we travel with Jesus into the wilderness and witness his conquest of Satan via the Holy Scriptures. In the process, Jesus, the only begotten of the Father, offers the obedience and love that Israel owed God in the desert but failed to give.
