Boquillas begins summer visitation schedule

The Boquillas Port of Entry will begin their new summer schedule on Sunday, April 28. The port of entry is located within Big Bend National Park (BBNP) and provides access to the town of Boquillas, Coahuila, Mexico as well as the protected areas in Mexico of the Maderas Del Carmen and Ocampo.

Esteemed businessman John B. Poindexter honored as West Texas conservation leader

John B. Poindexter was honored at a Houston event for his conservation contributions in West Texas. Poindexter is the owner of the acclaimed Cibolo Creek Ranch in Presidio County, south of Marfa. The Borderlands Research Institute (BRI) celebrated the third annual West Texas Conservationist of the Year award ceremony at the River Oaks Country Club on April 10, which was hosted by the Borderlands Research Foundation, the charitable arm of the Institute.

Permian Basin Area Foundation and Community Impact Report

McCrary will share how the Big Bend Region has benefited economically from the foundation’s work and what is planned for the future. Also discussed will be how your community can gain support from the foundation for needed future projects.

Dear Alpine Cowboys fans, players, staff, and volunteers, My great-grandfather donated Kokernot field to AISD back in the day and AISD leases it to Sul Ross and Sul Ross subleases the field for three-and-a-half months to the Alpine Cowboys. We have always paid a small fee in addition to in-kind improvements and maintenance since we became a 501c3 Non-Profit in 2011.
