Body The Alpine ISD Board of Trustees held their regular meeting last Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the AISD Administration Building. Of importance on the agenda were updates from Parkhill and Imperial on the ongoing construction at Alpine High School.

Body The Brewster County Commissioner’s Court held their regularly scheduled meeting Feb. 14 in council chambers, Commissioner Sara Colando, Pct. 2 and Commissioner William ‘Mo’ Morrow, Pct. 4 were absent.

Body The candidates running in the May 6 election for Alpine city council and the Alpine ISD school board have been announced.

Body In most instances, a lemony pasta dish works better in the spring or summer, but this creamy linguine with lemon and chicken is hearty enough to satisfy any time of the year. It is also a decadent and sexy dish and resembles something one might find in a fine dining establishment.

Body Sul Ross State University will hold its’ Hall of Honor inductee ceremony on Saturday, March 25. Three local boosters, graduates, and distinguished alumni are to be honored.

Body In what activities did you participate in high school? I participated in band, one act, and tennis! Who was your favorite teacher/coach, and why? My favorite mentors have always been the ones who stuck with me for more than a year. Ms.

Body Alpine High School band members recently competed in the UIL Solo and Ensemble contest held at Odessa College. Pictured is the AHS Clarinet Quartet consisting of Madison Mendoza, Allison Sanchez, Jaylynn Celaya, and Meghan Struthers, who are advancing to state competition.

Body On Saturday, Feb. 18 at approximately 1:15 PM, Big Bend National Park’s Communications Center received a call requesting emergency assistance on the Pinnacles Trail. A 56-year-old male was experiencing chest pains.
