Feb. 2-17 Big Bend Little League, Online registration for the Big Bend Little League began Jan. 19. The last day to register is Feb. 17. You may register online at https://clubs.bluesombrero. com/bigbendlittleleague Feb. 21 Our Lady of Peace, as part of the “Because We Care” project, OLP will be giving away FREE taco plates on Mardi Gras Tuesday beginning at 11:30 a.m. This is a drivethru event available first come first served, as only 500 plates will be given away.

Terlingua cemetery research featured at Jeff Davis County Library

After a career spanning 31 years with the National Park Service at Big Bend National Park, archeologist Tom Alex has taken his encyclopedia knowledge of the region to compile important research of the cemetery and ancestors of Terlingua. A free program offered at the Jeff Davis County Library in Fort Davis will highlight his work on Saturday, March 4 at 11 a.m. Tom has recorded 2887 archeological and historic sites, plus has documented 57 sites containing rock art. He will soon conclude a ten-year sampling survey of cultural sites coordinated with Sul Ross State University. His work in Terlingua examines little known history.
