WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Euphrates. Euphrates is a 14-year-old blue-grey Pit Bull Terrier Mix, and he’s looking for a home to spend his retirement years. He’s an incredibly energetic, strong, and active senior dog who certainly does not act his age. Euphrates is super sweet, gentle, and walks well on a leash, which is perfect because he loves long walks.

More than 30 members of the Sul Ross State University faculty have registered with Quality Matters, 13 of those will take the signature Quality Matters course, “Applying the QM Rubric,” during the winter break, before the start of the Spring 2023 semester. Six faculty members have already earned their QM Certification.

In my meeting with Alpine City Manager on Dec. 12, we reviewed problems I’ve had with the Water Department meter readings and inaccurate billing. She acknowledged I had been overcharged by 7,000 gallons in November. She was unable to say when I would receive the credit and unable to assure me the December billing would be accurate.
