WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Katie, a heeler mix who is six-and-a-half years old. She came to the shelter with her “sister friend” Athena. She walks nicely on a leash, and is doing well in playgroups. Katie is affectionate and listens well. She weighs in at about 43 pounds, and will make a sweet little addition to your family.

Thanksgiving food drive

Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church of Alpine Knights of Columbus will be distributing Thanksgiving boxes to those in need. They are accepting donations of canned food and other non-perishables that would be appropriate for Thanksgiving.

County VSO discusses veterans issues
