The Alpine Lady Bucks battled it out for the win in a district home game last week with the Presidio Blue Devils. After the Blue Devils led on the scoreboard for the entire first half, the Lady Bucks impressively rebounded in the second, toppling the guest team 40-38.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks fought tooth and nail for victory last Tuesday in a district home game against the Presidio Blue Devils. “It is always an exciting game when we face off against Presidio,” said Aaron Hardwick, the head basketball coach for the Bucks.

After their win over Le-Tourneau on the road on January 6, the Sul Ross Lady Lobos would return home to face Howard Payne University at the Gallego Center in a weekend game on January 13.

The Sul Ross Lobos met the Yellow Jackets at the Gallego Center last Saturday afternoon in a nailbiter of a game. The Lobos would fight neck and neck throughout the game, but come up just shy of the win, in a crushing fall to Howard Payne 83-84.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks took the win last week against the Kermit Yellow Jackets, defeating the opposing team 76-57. “It is always exciting when playing district opponents, specifically teams like Kermit.

On Tuesday of last week, the Lady Bucks defended their home turf against the visiting Kermit Yellow Jackets and brushed past the team 52-44. “It was a tough-fought game, but our girls were relentless and focused,” said Christopher Virdell, head basketball coach for the Lady Bucks.

Beginning last Thursday and continuing over the weekend, the Sul Ross Lady Lobos met up with East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) in Marshall followed by LeTourneau in Longview. The Thursday evening game did not go the way the Lobos wanted, as they fell to the Tigers 71-80.

The Lady Bucks have returned to district play with a bang after the Christmas and New Year holiday, winning their home game with the Stanton Buffalos 4331, on January 2, and an away game against the Tornillo Coyotes 80-24, on January 5.
