Lady Bucks fall to Panthers, topple Indians

Last week the Lady Bucks volleyball team played two non-district home games, one on Tuesday night against Odessa’s Permian Panthers, and one on Saturday morning, against the Fort Davis Indians. In Tuesday’s game against the Panthers, the Lady Bucks lost to the 6A team with a seven-win streak and a 15-9 record.

The Alpine High School Bucks played a great game of football on Friday, winning the game against the Wink Wildcats 19-18. In addition to the win, spectators were impressed by the Fightin’ Bucks and how they conducted themselves on the field.

The Alpine Lady Bucks volleyball team had a great week, starting off Tuesday. On August 22, the team faced off against Alpine’s neighboring Fort Davis team, the Indians, before going on to the Fillie Festival tournament in Denver City.

The Alpine Bucks football team played their Fort Stockton neighbors last week, playing the Panthers in a non-district game on Friday, September 1. The Alpine team unfortunately fell to Fort Stockton 7-27.

The Alpine Lady Bucks varsity cross country team left almost everyone in the dust last weekend at the Crane Invitational. Coming in second behind district competitor, Odessa’s Compass Academy, the girls showed the other 12 teams what they were made of.

Alpine Bucks narrowly tipped by Mountain View

The Alpine Bucks football team was tipped 41-36 in Friday’s nondistrict challenge by the visiting Mountain View Lobos from El Paso. At the Friday night game, the stands were full of supportive spectators and the Alpine Fightin’ Buck Band.
