The Alpine Middle School golf team traveled to Wink on Monday for their first and only junior high golf tournament. This was a ninehole tournament, and the team consisted of 12 boys and three girls.

Last week, the Lady Bucks returned victorious from the Bi-District challenge of the UIL Championship when they defeated the Brownfield Cubs. After losing one game on April 26, followed by two wins the following day, the Lady Bucks were pushed into qualifying for the Area level of the championship.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks almost came back against Denver City Friday night. The Bucks fell to the Mustangs 7-5. The Alpine team tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a triple by Iden Lujan and then a single by Jace Canaba. Lujan collected three hits for the night.
