Fightin’ Lady Bucks track hits Odessa

The Alpine Fightin’ Buck girls’ track, and field team traveled to Odessa last week to compete in the 80th West Texas Relays held at Ratliff Stadium. Both the varsity and JV teams competed against heavy competition from schools such as 6A Odessa Permian and San Angelo Central.

Lady Bucks softball almost topple Eagles

Last week the Lady Bucks softball program faced off with teams from Pecos, Big Spring, and Odessa. These were the final challenges for the Alpine team before they prepared for the upcoming district play starting this Friday, March 15.

Baseballers 4-8 going into district play

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks baseball team, like many sports at the high school level, faces numerous non-district opponents before they play the teams that “count.” And while the Bucks have struggled against a few tough opponents, their wins speak for themselves.

Cowgirls round-up Lobos in softball

Body
This past weekend the Sul Ross softball team hosted the Hardin-Simmons University Cowgirls for a doubleheader on Friday, followed by a single game on Saturday. During the first Friday game, the Lobos trailed the Cowgirls as the guest team took the lead 2-0 in the first inning.

Fightin’ Buck golf brings home the gold

The Alpine Fightin’ Buck varsity boys’ golf team competed in Wink last week, where they placed first with a combined score of 358. Individually, golfer David Baca also placed first in the tournament, shooting 77.

Bucks have tough outing on the road

The Alpine Bucks baseball team hit the road to Seminole last weekend for tournament play. They would face the Lovington Wildcats and the Denver City Mustangs on Friday and would follow up with games against Amarillo High and Brownfield on Saturday.
