Juan Alberto Dominguez, Sr., 78, passed away on Jan. 17, 2022, in Fort Davis, Texas.

Rosary took place on Jan. 22, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Davis, Texas. Funeral service followed. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fort Davis.

Juan was born in Fort Davis, to Felis Dominguez and Anita Granado on March 8, 1943. He went to school in Fort Davis, served in the U.S. Army, and later received both his Bachelors, and Masters of Education from Sul Ross State University.

He was married for 60 years to, as he put it, the love of his life, Lupe Fierro Dominguez.

He began his teaching career with Marfa ISD, worked at Lee Freshman in Midland, Texas, and retired as a principal in Presidio, Texas. He was involved in various organizations, his favorite serving as district deputy with the Knights of Columbus.

Juan was preceded in death by Felis and Anita; sisters Rebecca Garza and Lucia Benavidez; and brothers Raul and Felis, Jr.

Juan is survived by his wife Lupe; son Juan A. Dominguez Jr. and wife Mandeep Kaur, and granddaughters Xannajit and Julianna of Melbourne, Australia; son Edwardo Dominguez and wife Conni of Yuma, Ariz., and granddaughter Brenna Selvaggi and husband Enzo; great grandchildren Aliyah, Luca, Vittoria, Pier Marco, and Valentina of Rogersville, Mo.; granddaughter Amelia Kim and husband Eugene of Del Mar, Calif.; grandson, Trevor Dominguez and wife Faith; great grandchildren Chandler, Levi, and Ayla of Wildomar, Calif.; son Carlos Dominguez children Adam and Haley of Austin, Texas; daughter Abigail Jimenez and husband Frank; and granddaughters Rebecca and McKayla of Midland, Texas.

Knights of Columbus members were the pallbearers.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved with providing care and comfort to our family during the passing of our father.
