Body Irene “Nene” Gallego Espinoza, a lifelong resident of Alpine, was called home to glory on April 24 with her beloved family by her side. Nene was laid to rest at Holy Angels Cemetery in Alpine.

Body Martha Martinez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 20, in Odessa. She was born on February 24, 1940, in the small town of Fort Davis.

Body James Henry Thomas, Jr., “Coach Thomas/ Daddypa,” 88, of Pecos, passed away on March 28 in Fort Worth, surrounded by family and friends. James was born on March 29, 1937, to James H.

Body Margaret Helen Blackman (nee Travland), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on March 11 at the age of 88 years old. Born on April 14, 1936, to Oscar Travland and Melba Harvey Travland, she was the oldest of five children.

Body Johny Weyerts, 88, of Alpine, entered into the arms of our loving Savior on March 28. Born on May 1, 1936, Johny spent his formative years during World War II, a conflict that claimed his father’s life when Johny was just eight years old.

Body Scott C. Emerick, MD, originally from South Bend, Indiana, landed and fell in love with Alpine.

Body Beth Ann Collins, lovingly known by her husband as “Cutestuff,” graced this world with her presence from January 11, 1942, until her departure on March 17, 2025. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Beth lived a life filled with purpose, dedication, and love.

Body Jim David Bowen died March 17 in Alpine from the flu. Jim was 78 and a half years old. He was born in Fort Davis on September 4, 1946, and raised by Goldie and Larry A. Martin, in Houston.

Body Paula Kathryn “Kathy” Henson, 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 19 in Weatherford. Memorial Service: 2 p.m.
