Alpine Elementary School pre-k 4 students from teacher Bianca Barrera’s class were happy to check out the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter that made a landing on the elementary school lawn on May 20 for First Responders Appreciation Day. The school welcomed members from Alpine Police Department, Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, Alpine Fire and EMS, U.S. Border Patrol, and more as they interacted with the youngsters in a fun-filled day where they enjoyed refreshments.

Caving camp offered June 13-14

Sul Ross State University, in conjunction with other organizations, will sponsor a Noyce Middle School STEM summer camp in Alpine and the Tri-County on Monday and Tuesday, June 13- 14, called Caving Across STEM.

Eaves takes helm as mayor

After canvassing and certifying votes from the May 7 election, t he City of Alpine welcomed newly elected Mayor Catherine Eaves at its regularly scheduled city council meeting on May 17. Eaves was sworn in by 394th Judicial District Judge Roy Ferguson, along with council members Chris Rodriguez, for Ward 2, and Martin Sandate, Ward 4, who were elected for two-year terms.

Paisano Girls’ Mission Camp

The Annual Paisano Girls’ Mission Camp will be held this year from June 6-10 at Prude Ranch. All girls from first through12th grades are invited to participate in bible studies, mission time, music, crafts, food, fellowship, and much more.
