She appreciates relaxed living, and likes being indoors but is not against enjoying an afternoon under the shade on a cool patio.
The Sunshine House is looking for volunteers to do Meals on Wheels deliveries. It takes about an hour, from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and there are eight to 10 people who receive meals on each route. Map and route information will be provided.
The Texas State University System has received more than $60 million in state support for Sul Ross State University, including an historic investment of more than $59 million for capital projects in the university’s two service regions. The funding, secured by TSUS leadership during the 2021 legislative sessions, includes $33.1 million for multi-purpose education buildings in the Rio Grande College service area, $26.4 million toward renovations of fine arts buildings in Alpine, and $1 million in recurring state general revenue support to enhance the university’s student success initiatives.
February 3,1977 Marine Pvt. First Class Joe L. Valero, son of Mr. and Mrs. Juan A Valero of Alpine, has completed the infantry combat training course at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif. A 1976 graduate of Alpine High School, he joined the Marines Corps in July 1976.
