Sul Ross State University, in conjunction with other organizations, will sponsor a Noyce Middle School STEM summer camp in Alpine and the Tri-County on Monday and Tuesday, June 13- 14, called Caving Across STEM.

McDonald’s restaurant owner Irma Campbell presented a $3,500 check to Alpine High School Buck Band Boosters on May 11 as part of a fundraiser to benefit the Fightin’ Buck Band students with uniforms, equipment, scholarships, travel costs, and more. Joining Campbell in the front, Buck Band Boosters President Regina Terrazas, Booster Sara Grannis, and McDonald’s Manager Virginia Acosta; in the back, Booster Treasurer Melissa Bergstrom, Booster Elaina Sharron, and Booster Allison Vidal. The Alpine Buck baseball season ended May 7 with the Brownfield Cubs in the third contest of a three-game series, 10-9. The game was a gut-wrenching loss with the tying run on third, and the winning run on first base at the time of the final out. Alpine took the first game behind junior Teagan Emerson pitching, and Cody Morris came in for the save, 4-2 Bucks. It was a sweltering 100 degrees for the three-game series in Midland.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.

Angelo State University’s chapter of the Order of the Sword and Shield national honor society recently inducted 28 new students for the 2021-2022 academic year, including Kassandra Acosta of Alpine.
