Boozy pie, martinis part of a break from traditional Thanksgiving fare

Body
Last year, my family decided to break from our traditional Thanksgiving celebration and spend the holiday with friends in Horseshoe Bay. It’s an ideal getaway for anyone who loves golf and lake life. Among the non-traditional dishes prepared, such as beef tenderloin and scratch-made pasta, was Bourbon Pecan Pie from Garden & Gun magazine. The filling was rich and buttery, with just enough bourbon to give each bite a warm, caramel depth. We may have cheated with a store-bought crust, but fresh pecans from Menard added that unmistakable Texas touch.
