Gage Hotel one of the best in Texas

For those looking to get away from it all while staying in one of the top hotels in Texas, Marathon is the place to be. The Gage Hotel, built in 1927 and designed by famed El Paso architect Henry Trost, was built for its namesake, pioneer rancher Alfred S. Gage. It is now a legendary resort and more than just a place to hang your hat.

Bucks season comes to an end in second round of playoffs

Last Friday night in Kermit the Alpine Bucks faced a football rushing machine and the number seven team in the state in the 11-0 Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles. These Eagles, along with the El Paso Riverside Rangers, were the top two teams on the Bucks schedule this season.

Big things expected from Cason

Hatfield Cason is just a freshman, but his performance in cross country has been more like an upperclassman in high school thus far. He has had six top five finishes to close out a stellar freshman campaign. He finished third in District this year for his highest race of the cross-country season. He also finished third in the Bo Coffman Invitational down in Presidio.

After just over a year as president of Sul Ross State University, Pete Gallego last week announced he will resign at the end of the current academic year, effective June 4, 2022. The 13th president of Sul Ross informed Texas State University System Chancellor Brian McCall about his decision on Nov. 12.
