Angelica Raquel Aguilar-Pearce of Alpine, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 13, 2021. She was 36, and was loved by her family and friends. Angelica was born on Dec. 11, 1984 in San Antonio, Texas, where she grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and siblings. She has a twin brother, Charlie Aguilar, and they shared a true twin bond. She grew up in a home filled with music, like oldies and Tejano, which sparked her love for dancing.

The Alpine High School Student Advisory Committee met on Oct. 19. Committee members are Kendal Hardaway, Sierra Rickman, Kaitlyn Wiggins, Jaime Rodriguez, Lourdes Acosta, Shaun Foster, Allison Sanchez, and Jace Canaba. On Oct. 18 the Texas Legislature voted for final passage of Senate Bill 8, which appropriates funds from the American Rescue Plan Act to be used across Texas. A critical piece of this legislation includes $15.5 million dollars to fund a permanent U.S. Customs and Border Protection Inspection Station in Presidio to serve the South Orient rail line, which crosses the international border in Presidio and continues to Dallas.
