Alpine native and Sul Ross instructor Dr. Kendra DeHart has been named as the new chair of the Behavioral and Social Sciences department at Sul Ross State University.

Sul Ross State University is the birthplace of the college rodeo. It is where the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association began, and its history has helped pave the way for a cowboy from Idaho to help achieve his dreams.

Eleanor Margaret Hay Foster passed away on June 11, in Rio Communities, New Mexico where she had lived her last fourteen months with her daughter. She was born October 26, 1928 at Hiway, Roosevelt County, New Mexico to Anna Clyng Hay and Eugene Wells Hay.
