Alpine Ambassadors welcomed the city’s old fashioned ice cream shop Scoops Creamery as it celebrated its first year anniversary with a ribbon cutting on July 24. Scoops owners and staff welcomed the public with plenty of tasty sweets and refreshments and fun giveaways to mark the occasion. Celebrating 50 years of law enforcement

Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson hosted a meeting of the Big Bend Area Law Enforcement Officer’s Association on July 14 at Post Park in Marathon, in conjunction with the Association’s 50th Anniversary. The meeting was held at the Post Park and the Marathon Community Center, and included current and former sheriffs. No matter where she is sleeping or hiding, this sweet girl will always come over to meet you at the door to receive some loving attention, and give you all her love and devotion. You will never feel lonely with Bell in your life!

Workshop scheduled for West Texas landowners

Helping landowners make the best decisions about how to effectively steward their properties is a key focus for the Borderlands Research Institute at Sul Ross State University. That’s why BRI is helping to bring a special workshop to West Texas.

Alpine High School registration will start soon, with freshmen registering on Aug. 10 from 9-11:30 a.m., and sophomores on Aug.
