The baseball season is underway for Alpine Middle School Bucks. Their season began on Monday, April 8 when the eighth graders traveled to Fort Stockton to take on the Panthers.

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks baseball team went up against district rivals Kermit last Friday and would bring home the ‘W’. The Bucks would hit the scoreboard hard in the first few minutes of the game and never look back.

After a stellar season by the Alpine Lady Bucks Track and Field team, a series of mishaps and a weather delay stranded the Lady Bucks in Abilene, with no one advancing to the state finals.

The Alpine Bucks varsity baseball team fell for the second time last Friday to the Stanton Buffaloes. Although they fared better at the plate than the previous matchup, the Bucks were defeated 9-18.

The Alpine Lady Bucks softball team had yet another impressive showing in the last two weeks, winning a game against Presidio last Tuesday, followed by another win against Crane on Friday, and nearly taking Fort Stockton on Saturday.
