It’s more than over-priced gas at service-less stations

Keeping cars fueled has changed the way many of us live. Just last week, I had to apply for an increase in my credit limit at the bank, and that was just to buy enough gas to get to the service station. Or, more accurately stated, the inconvenience stores that sell gasoline without service. I heard last week that someone called the police claiming they were robbed at the corner gas station. When the dispatcher asked if they knew the thief’s identity, the caller responded, “Yes, it was pump number 6.”

Collaborating for health care Health care resources in the Big Bend are limited, but as the participants in a recent forum sponsored by the Alpine Public Library discovered they might not be as limited as people think. What is definitely limited is information on available resources.

As a new wave of migrants laps along the southern border, Texas is barricading a key entry point under international bridges in the town of Eagle Pass. Whether Operation Steel Curtain will deter illegal crossers or just reroute them up or down the largely unpatroled Rio Grande is an open question.
