Yolanda Martinez Salcido, 72, of Fort Davis, passed away peacefully at Big Bend Regional Medical Center on March 16, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on February 8, 1954, in Alpine to Manuel and Josefina Martinez. Yolanda grew up in Fort Davis and graduated from Fort Davis High School in 1974. She went on to work as an Administrative Assistant at High Frontier, where she dedicated 22 years of her life. She truly loved her job and the people she worked with, forming many close friendships over the years. Yolanda also had a special heart for the residents at High Frontier and took pride in mentoring and supporting them.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was always there to cheer them on, whether it was at sporting events or rodeos. Yolanda enjoyed crafting in her free time and never passed up a chance to visit a casino and play the slot machines.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, her strong love for her family, and the joy she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her husband, LeeRoy Salcido; sons, James Martinez of Fort Davis, Timothy Salcido of Fort Davis; daughter, Liliana DeLuna and husband Tommy De-Luna of Iowa Park, Texas; grandsons, Levi, Layton, TJ, and Lathum DeLuna and Taygen Salcido; sister, Rosie Salcido and husband Hooper Salcido and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Israel Arevalo, her brothers, Moy, Pancho, Manuel, Adolfo, Adan, Jimmy, Ernest, and Eddie, her nephews Jacob Martinez, BJ Martinez, and niece Trinity Hernandez.

Family visitation and rosary services were held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services were held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Davis, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026.
