Sarah Whitson Bourbon
Sarah Whitson Bourbon, 76, of Terlingua passed away on March 30, at her home in Terlingua.
Sarah was born September 12, 1946, to Caroline and John Whitson in Denton. Sarah graduated from Denton High School, and later attended the University of North Texas where
she gained a bachelor’s degree in arts, in 1970. In 1980, she became Managing Director of Texas Monthly. During her tenure at Texas Monthly, she discovered the Big Bend and fell in love with the area. Soon after, she met and married Bill Bourbon on February 1, 1987.
Sarah was an avid bird watcher. She never passed up the chance to visit a Goodwill, always in hopes of a good bargain. She loved cuisine of all cultures. She loved her pets, family, friends, and all things nature.
Sarah is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bourbon. Sarah is survived by two sons, Brian Bourbon of Alpine, Michal Bourbon of Weir, and a grandson Logan Bourbon, Alpine.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
