Robert “Renn” Burling, 53, of Van Alstyne,Texas, passed away Sept. 30, 2021. He was born Jan. 3, 1968, in Alpine, Texas,to Robert Burling and Liska Lyons.

Renn had a carefree spirit about him. Renn loved to help others, and would do anything for you. Renn helped touched many lives in recovery as well. He was in the Air Force, and was so proud of being a pilot. Renn enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church as well as serving in church as he helped with the tech team. He loved playing games with his children, going fishing as a family, and playing guitar. Renn enjoyed having date nights with his wife as often as they could get away. Renn could do the best impressions of any character out there such as Scooby Doo, King of the Hill, Looney Tunes, and many more.

Renn is survived by his loving wife Brittany Burling of Van Alstyne; daughter Geneva Liska

Burling; sons Griffin Malcolm Burling and Gavin Rennie Burling; mother Liska Scott Lyons of Canyon Lake, Texas; Robert Ronald Burling of Alpine; sisters Ginger Moore of Alpine, Bobbi Kay Burling of Alpine, Jamie Gray of Alpine, and Ashley Estes of Andrews, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and other loved ones.

A gathering of family and friends took place on Oct. 7, 2021, in the chapel at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. A celebration of life took place at the Burling family’s church, Lifepointe Fellowship in McKinney, Texas.
