Richard Lee Bingham was born May 9, 1949, in Fort Worth and died January 11 at his residence in Alpine. He attended high school in Austin and was a 1970 graduate of the University of Texas. In 1993, he moved to Alpine, and in 1999, his mother bought

him a lot on the side of “A” Mountain. After many years, he converted an abandoned, unfinished building on the lot into a living area he called his house. In 2010, after borrowing and refusing to return his mother’s car, he ended all contact with his family. Why is unknown.

He is predeceased by his parents and oldest niece and is survived by his sister, nephew and niece, and brother. From your brother: We were best friends for over 30 years, so I know you always wanted it to be all about you, and I give you that here. Yours is the only name we mentioned. Rest in peace, Richard.
