Mildred Elizabeth Newman Roach of Alpine, Texas, passed away on Nov. 30, 2021, following a brief illness. She was 87 years old.

Graveside services for Mildred will be held on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery with Pastor Chris Powell of First Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas.

Mildred was born i Barnhart, Texas, o April 18, 1934, to Alvis and Mary Newman. She attended public schools in Barnhart and Big Lake, Texas. While living in Big Lake, she met and married Jack Hulet Roach, Sr., on Nov. 11, 1950. Mildred and Jack later moved with their three young sons to Alpine in 1963.

Mildred was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Alpine, and was an active member of Paisano Baptist Encampment. She also served for many years as a Pink Lady at the local hospital. Mildred was also the founding member of Thursday family lunches, and distributor of Grandmas goodies area wide.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband; son Jack Hulet Roach, Jr.; her parents; and sisters Patty Turner and Betty Waver.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mildred are her son Wes Roach, his wife Patty and daughter Jessie; son Dan Roach and his sons Daniel Roach (wife Mandy) and Allen and their mother Rose Roach; daughter-in-law Marsha Roach and her sons Chris (wife Andrea) and son Sean (wife Andrea); nine great grandchildren; one brother, George Newman; sister Lois Zeller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
